The ferry in Dolní Žleb is the northernmost and lowest ferry in the Czech Republic. It connects the most remote part of Děčín with the right bank and is widely used not only by local residents but also by tourists.
The western wharf is located near the railway station Dolní Žleb, the eastern wharf is located on the road between Hřensko and Děčín.
The ferry operates on an unregulated section of the Elbe River, where the level fluctuates continuously depending on hydrological conditions. In general, therefore, the ferry is able to operate if the water level at the water level gauge in Ústí nad Labem is between 160 and 300 cm. Otherwise, the ferry is out of service.
The ferry operates all year round and carries pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles up to 12 t in weight.
