The zoo was founded in 1848 by the city of Decin and is located on the outskirts of the city. Its area belongs to smaller zoos (6 ha).
It is situated on the top of the Shepherd's Wall in a forest park. The zoo boasts more than 450 animals of 150 species - some of which are absolutely unique in our country. It attracts especially families with children and has much to offer. The area is permeated with interactive elements.
The only Czech zoo in a forest park where you can admire grizzly bears. Children can enjoy a castle with a trapdoor, a monkey rope course or a climbing wall, a children's contact zoo, and new features include nature trails such as the Bird Trail.
