The waterfall is located in the Vaňov district in Ústí nad Labem. It is a popular tourist destination and natural attraction.
The Vaňovský waterfall is one of the highest in the Bohemian Central Highlands and is one of the most famous and most visited waterfalls in the destination. The water of the Podlešínský brook falls from a wall about 12 metres high. Not far from the waterfall is another natural attraction, the Vrkoč rock formation.
The Vaňovský waterfall is accessible via the green hiking trail from Vaňov or along the pretty Větruše-Vrkoč nature trail from the Větruše chateau.
