The Veltrusy Chateau was built by Václav Antonín Chotek at the beginning of the 18th century and represents an important work of the High Baroque. The castle consists of a main building with a higher cylindrical core from which four single-storey wings project.
On the northern side there is a monumental double staircase with a sculpture. Inside, you will see breathtaking decorations and furnishings in Baroque and Rococo style. You can also spend pleasant moments in the extensive English park with its many romantic small buildings and sculptures dating from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. You can explore the chateau on one of the guided tours, which will introduce you to the life of the nobility.
